Hakone visitor center is a nature information center located at the north side of Lake Ashi. You can stop by here for park information, hiking maps, trails conditions, wild flower and birding information for your enjoyable visit in Hakone. We have free Wi-Fi and vending machine. The entrance fee is free.

Hours: 9:00am – 17:00pm (last admission at 16:30)
Close: Second and fourth Monday of each month (or the following Tuesday if the Monday is a public holiday)

Due to the volcanic gases, hiking trails leading to Owakudani are closed since 2015 as shown in the following map.
Asiatic black bear, wild boar and sika deer sightings have increased throughout the park over the past several years. Making noise on the trail can alert them to your presence before you encounter them.
